This desert tour from Marrakech to Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga is one of the best itineraries for those who want to visit the deep Morocco desert and don’t mind long hours driving especially on the third day. DAY 1: MARRAKECH - TIZI NTICHKA – OUARZAZATE –BOUMALNE DADES (06H00 DRIVE)

Your driver will pick you up at 7:30 am for your desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga which will start early in the morning. We leave Marrakech at 08:00 am for the Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou by the pass of Tizi N'tichka and we cross the High Atlas. Many stops will be made along the way, for breakfast, coffee, photos or panoramas, then Visit the legendary Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which has also served as a background for various Hollywood hits. We continue to Ouarzazate and visit Kasbah Taourirt before Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will drive to Boumalne Dades through the Valley of Roses before joining our small hotel located in the Dades Valley.

DAY 2: BOUMALNE DADES – MERZOUGA (4H00 DRIVE)

After breakfast in the Dades Valley, our journey will continue today towards the road of one thousand kasbahs towards the oasis of Tinghir, to follow the river to the Todgha Gorges.

After spending some free time to enjoy the immensity of the cliffs and have lunch in a local café (free time for lunch), we will continue early in the afternoon to the city of Rissani, famous for its market dates and the starting point of the old commercial caravans passage the Moroccan desert to Tomboctou. After a shortstop, we will continue towards Merzouga crossing an arid desert landscape.

Upon your arrival at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, we joined our camel caravan and traversed the sand dunes in changing colors with the sunset on the horizon as a backdrop. We reach our Erg Chebbi desert camp, nestled in the dunes; just before darkness. After a while to admire the sand dunes and surrounding landscapes, get ready for a Moroccan dinner served under the stars next to the campfire. Late at night, your local hosts will entertain you with their drums.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH (9H00 DRIVE)

Wake up early morning to watch the sunrise on the dunes then ride the camel’s back to lodge in Merzouga, after breakfast and having a shower in the Hotel, we start backing to Marrakech back to Ouarzazate. After some time at leisure for lunch, we carry on in the afternoon to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

Your budget shared 3 days desert tour will end in Marrakech at about 7 pm. (Depends on the traffic)
